Science sheet- Lifecycle of a plant

I will upload my photos of the science experiments but we may have to wait till next week to make some good observations.  So you may want to finish your conclusions or Power Points later next week.

Love Mrs Mason πŸ˜€

Photos part 2!

It made my day seeing all your science experiments! Well done all! 🌷I will share mine tomorrow.
Also we were really pleased that Betsy poem to Amelie brought a smile to her face 😊

Hope you get some colourful results Lily! 🌈

Looking good Lucas! πŸ˜€

Great science work Jake and glad your sister could help! 😍

Photos of Class 3 part one!

Hi Class 3 and Parents!

Apologies for the link not being uploaded for the Maths worksheet on Wednesday. It is not always easy to respond to theses technical issues quickly as the emails may not get to us straight away at a time when we are able to rectify the problem. If it happens again you can always go direct to WhiteRose or Hamilton Trust website.

Here is the worksheet if still needed.
Fractions Lesson 3

We have lots of photos to share! It's great seeing all the activities you are up to at home, it makes a big difference knowing we are all working together  during this time.

George A has been busy making a sock puppet, a Roman Villa out of Lego and created a volcanic explosion using vinegar and baking powder!! Wow! Great work George πŸ˜ƒ I did a similar experiment with Oliver and others in school during the Easter holidays using coke and mentos!! It's great fun and lots of science involved!!πŸ’‘πŸ”
Clara had a fun time camping outside and cooking breakfast on a fire! My girls have camped out in their tent and Lucy has been asking to make a fire so when the rain stops that will be our next activity! Great idea. 😻
This is better than I imagined Olivia! Can't wait to go the beach! 😎

Love your plant Owen, great job! πŸ˜ƒ

Great review Thomas, keep up the hard work and hope your wrist gets better soon! No more crazy flips on the trampoline!!! 😊

Happy Birthday Captain Tom, 100 years old today! Wow he's an amazing man!
Hi Class 3, hope you've had a good week so far with the Science topic on plants and been keeping busy with all the other activities. πŸ˜€

We started the 'water transportation' experiment and are still watching to see what happens, may try it again tomorrow too. Will post some photos. No change with the cornflower plants yet, we will have to be patient and maybe make observations next week.

Today's tasks are below.

Thursday 30th April

Here is a link to ABC assembly lead by Archbishop of Canterbury. It would be great if your child could write a sentence or two about the message they think ABC is giving or thoughts about similarities with our assemblies.

Science Investigation

Hi Class 3!

Lucy, my daughter, helped me set up the plant investigation. We used cornflower plants and put one in the fridge (this is the garage fridge so not much food in there)! One in a cupboard, one in the window and one on the kitchen side (this one is the control). Here are the photos. We will keep you updated.
Here are the plants in the 'control' area. They have had water, they are getting sunlight and the temperature is warm.
The control plant will continue to get all the things we think it needs to grow.

This plant will get water and warmth but it will be in darkness so no sunlight.

This plant will get water but no sunlight or warmth.

Note to parents: Please remember that these are suggested activities for the day. Set the level of work that you feel is appropriate and achievable. Hi Class 3,

It's Wednesday already!      πŸ˜ƒ

Here are Wednesday's tasks

You might also get time to take a look at The Book of Hopes:

The Book of Hopes: Words and Pictures to Comfort, Inspire and Entertain Children in Lockdown is edited by Katherine Rundell and is full of contributions from more than 100 children's writers and illustrators.

The collection is dedicated to the doctors, nurses, carers, porters, cleaners and everyone currently working in hospitals.

I believe the book will be available to buy in hard copy later on in the year, but below is a link to the National Literacy Trust where you can read the book for free online and find out more.

The book really is stunning and with authors such as Lauren Child, Michael Morpurgo, Anthony Horowitz, Lauren St John, Vashti Hardy and many more contributing, there is sure to be something for everyone.

I do hope you take a look and it provides an enjoyable read for you and your family during what is a strange and unsettling time for many.

Enjoy your day!😺

Thank you for the pictures you're sending to school. Your work looks amazing!

We've also had a look at the BBC bitesize lessons this week and some of the content is fantastic.
Do take a look if you would like:

BBC bitesize also has a clip for most lessons if you get stuck do a little research to help you find the answers to your questions.

Yesterday Whiterose maths were having problems with their servers - meaning some videos didn't run but we didn't have any difficulties today, hopefully you've managed to navigate their website 😊

We don't want to bombard you with too many lessons, remember to take some daily exercise outside and enjoy this amazing weather we're having!
